My Chaplain M38. The violet is "more" violet under the hat.
Also, the national emblem I believe fell off (see next pic) and was replaced in the field with this one.

The inside. Very used and worn.
Having been in combat for 16 months, finding a mint visor or cap is very rare. Finding one beat up is perhaps a sign that it is real as fake visors with a salty look is hard to produce. IMO.

Chappy--I really appreciate collectors who specialize in "niche" areas--there is a lot to be learned (and appreciated) in the obscure (and sometimes overlooked!)--nice collection, and if I run across any Chaplain items during my travels, I'll be sure to let you know.

Here is a salty chaplain running shoe. Notice the violet piping, and the violet sock. I hear that a bishop's running shoe would have gold tips on the laces. Wasn't there a pair at the MAX???
