Someone sent me pics too look at. The bullion cross is wrong. I have never seen bullion on a chap. In fact I think I read somewhere that there was some form of religious connotation regarding insignia. I think it all had to be in silver. This is absolutely strange in the pictures I have got the Paspel mauve appears if I them take photos she does not work blue, however, as well as blue of a usual Sani. The shop assistant has also sent me a picture on him the cap beside a doctor lies. One recognises an absolutely clear difference in the tone. The cap itself is likewise flawless, the stocks.Comment

Likely an "old wives' tale" and yes, I owned a Chaplain's cap as well as a Field Bishop!
The Crosses were stamped metal...silvered / gold and the same design. Last I heard they are in Europe

See my link below for my chaplain collection to include my visor and a M38 with violet piping.
I believe there were no standards (hard to believe in the TR) regarding silver, pin on, or nothing. I have pictures of all three example.
The example at Ulric seems interesting, the inside of the hat seems used, yet the piping is very purple/clean. IMO, the violet of chaplains becomes worn looking quickly whereas medical retains its brightness. Chris Liontas has a visor and can contribute some good info to the thread.

These caps are incredibly super rare but very commonly reproduced

thanks for posting the pics- but imo your cap is defentinately not a Nebeltruppe. Maybe Veterinarian, faded Panzer or Generalstaff.
