I think the cap was made as a fake to fool the collector.

This is what it boils down to.

I´m a little worried after reading these posts....
Two well -known (well,that´s what I hear from many collectors..) dealers possibly selling fakes ?!?!?
They say they are the EXPERTS !!!
I hope this isn´t true......

Remember, no-one knows EVERYTHING about this field of collecting. Even dealers are known to make mistakes. The dealer I bought this cap from got it on consignment, I'm returning the cap, he's refunding me my money and it's being returned to the consignor. I've bought from them several times before without a problem. It's just one of those rare instances where the item was made with the intent of fooling collectors. There are some dealers out there that are truly out to scam people, but I can say for sure I would never think that of the collector's guild.
