Postwar Labels Of Wartime Makers

Gents:

For our newer collectors (and as a follow-up to the earlier fantasy and Janke label threads), post your Postwar labels (not repros) of wartime makers.
Always remember that when collecting original hats, they should never have a plastic label, they should always be CELLULOID. This is an absolute in collecting. Celluloid is similar to film negatives, and plastic is, well, plastic--its pliable and appears "bumpy" over time.

Anyway, here goes:

1. Clemens Wagner (after the war they used "Clewa"):

The most prolific of the postwar makers, Albert Kempf (Alkero):

Another Alkero. Note this says "Deutsches B-Patent". The "B" stands for "Bundespatent." What you want to see on original labels is "Deutsches Reichspatent."

Now remember, some manufacturers did use left-over stock of celluloid labels after the war, so post-war hats can have a wartime logo, but these are generally civil caps (railway, police, etc.)

I think you should start a new thread on "Reproduction Labels of Wartime Originals"--it's one that should be pinned/stickied at the top of the forum.

Gents--the "Extra Klasse" mark in the first photo of Wolften's post is one of the most over-used faker marks I have seen of late. But it is a copy of an actual, original makers mark that was used during wartime, although it is rarely seen (I have no idea why the fakers use it so much--maybe because of the big eagle?)

Anyway, here is a wartime original of that label:
