I agree, the poll was meant in good-natured fun, and the responses were enjoyable. But Diane may have a point. I could entertain some doubts that everyone would see it in the same humorous way. Perhaps this sort of thing would be better suited for Die Kneipe.

I guess my exchange with gary9 on the General's tunic was the motivating factor in starting this thread. I should explain what led to that. RonR posted a General's tunic for opinions. Around 10 forum members came to the same conclusion that it looked like all the insignia was replaced post war. Gary9 then singled out Bryon Singer and said we was wrong, and has been wrong on a number or occasions in the past. Why did Gary9 address his disagreement with just Bryon? What about the other nine members who had the same opinion as Bryon? That is why I added my comments. Furthermore, I don't think he should make a post saying Bryon "has been wrong on a number of occasions" without stating examples. That is just not fair. But for the record, I was not tying to belittle gary9, nor do I have anything against him. I have seen some very nice things that he has posted, and he seems to be a very serious, independent thinking collector.

As fot this thread - "Does B. N. Singer know what he is talking about - or not?", I could entertain doubts....at my own risk!

I have known Bryon for over 30 years. We grew up in this hobby together, and I am happy to call him a friend. Bryon learned by his mistakes as we all did. He has a lot of knowledge and superb analytical abilities. When Byon says there is problem with something, you should pay attention...Tom

A word of clarification to everyone about this thread.

Please understand that never was this intended to be a platform for attack or otherwise.

It was from inception, along with Mr. Davis and with MY BLESSING, thought to be a fun way of starting a New Year and adding some humor (at my expense, which I mind not at all) to a hobby too often taken serious all the time.

Indeed it has been (up to this point) enjoyable to me and I hope others as well. However, if different of it is thought by the administrators and the thread should be closed, so be it. My wish would be otherwise.

I respect all comments from Byron because in my opinion he has a good knoledge about German uniforms.

I have also had the pleasure of knowing Bryon for many years. Bryon shares his knowledge, without personal gain, and without any 'sugar coating'. His word is good and knowledge is from years of studying those items he collects and researches. Bryon is a student of uniforms, insignia and headgear who is always willing to learn and expand his knowledge.

There is one thing far more rare than those trinkets we collect: integrity. Bryon's intrgrity, willingness to help, and humility are what we value and cherish. I seek out his counsil, when I don't know, and have always found Bryon to be selfless when it comes to helping anyone who cares to learn.

We are all fortunate to have Bryon aboard.

Moving this thread to Die Kniepe is asking for trouble. That section is infamous for those who like contreversy & negativity. I see no purpose
in moving it. At this point, I do not even understand any further positive purpose in this thread As it is now, we have over 10% who have chosen door #2.I would like to know who those people are and what level of expertise they have.
I am glad Bryon chimed in and explained the concept of this thread.

I do not have the foggiest idea as to what the "Die Kniepe" forum is or is about however, from the sound of it, I might not fare too terribly well there.
