I think that SPQR means that he wants to see a close-up of the piping, preferably being bent down with a finger-nail, to see if the piping has been colored. I don't think it has, but I think that that is what SPQR wants to determine.

I think NTZ, it's just a period stiching default
sometime you see this kind default on around of the band cap
Lignemaginot, the piping is untouched real green color

I agree with Wolften on that - the government issue caps very often have that kind of sloppy stitching.

Wolften, are there any manufacturing stamps on the underside of the sweatband - even government issue caps often have the stamp of the "furrier co-op" where it was made.

                        Lignemaginot,
yes, this cap is a standard cap not a private purchase made by the III Reich army ,at the beginning war, and it's right, this cap was marqued under the sweatband by a period stamp with the name of the taylor cap or regiment, this cap is marqued 1939 period

Yes I can buy that. I just looked at a couple of my EM’s. Although no visible stitching the contract piece surely were not made as well. Everything else is right as rain.

yes Ntz, it's a 100% Real cap no problem,
the quality of the government issue caps was less than the Private purchasse manufacture, but more rarely !
ps : NTZ did to want buy this cap ? lol
