I can see were those who say they do not like this cap are coming from. Personally the photos are not clear enough for me to comment. Billbert has made a good point however about the insignia being M40 versions on a 1938 cap but the cap could have had the badges removed and then reapplied at a later date.
What I would like, is better pictures of the grommets. If these are the rare Aluminum versions then they look correct as opposed to reproduction Aluminum grommets but I would need better pictures esp of how the finish if any has been applied. Clearer close up pictures of the soutache would also be a help.
M34 caps in mint to excellent condition can be a hard call.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I'll posts some better pics tommorrow. I'm more into daggers than headgear, I've always felt that cloth items wire a minefield.
Here's a couple of picks of an officer's M38. This came from a different source. Again opinions appreciated. It does seem to compare tothe one pictured in Gary Wilkins book page 133.
