I can entertain doubts on this one.....

Have never seen a sweatband of this type on early visors. just my opinion. Not one I'd want in my collection.

Yes. They have been faking these "Gruppe West" visors ever since the Hayes book came out in the mid 90s. I doubt if there are any original parts.

Here is one that was sold by a major auction house a few years back:
