    unissued LW tropical side cap

This minty LW side cap, dated 1942 came from a local tropical collector who was thinning the collection. Somebody else said it was a typical Statni Film Czech unissued cap. The large inked number is typical for Statni.
What do you guys think? Value?

The Statni "722" looks to be a fake. The "1942" & "58" look to have been stamped from the same stamp pad at the same time ?

The images are not good enough to make a proper call one way or the other about the cap or eagle.

However, I am thinking fake based on those stamps

Thanks. I had some concerns with the inked stamps too....which is exactly why O osted it...
and I was hesitant myself about this purchase but a friend who has Czech roots and very familiar with artifacts from CZ
said without hesitation that it was text book Statni.... The insignia is certainly 100% good...
      More opinions?

in materials (lining and outside) , stitching/construction and LW insignia it is an EXACT twin of this Berolina marked cap

I would be double checking that one Nick,

never heard of one that needed stamps added to because it did not already have a makers stamp.

Also every fake "722" stamp that I have ever seen was in a fake cap.

Better images will tell one way or the other,

        Chris

OK thanks Chris...will make much better images in day light!
The insignia is certainly 100% accurate/original and well attached by hand as it should...

          Here is another comparison...
My "Statni Film 722" example side by side with an authentic "Berolina"

Does the Berolina have an ink stamped size or hand written pen size in it ?

                Only this...
Maybe the size "58" + 1942 is real...crisp, straight and period.... and some clown added the Statni "722" film # to make it more convincing???
Again in materials inside and outside, construction and insignia is right on the money IMO...Just s sloppy 722...but studio's didn't care about that...

Statni wasn't exactly very careful with stamping items...it appears...

Same ink used for the Statni 722 and the other stamping : surprising !
I won't dismiss this cap so easily but this markings question is weird ...
Somebody added some stamps to enhance the cap , more commercial ?

I like the look of it, looks well made, my gut instinct is its a good one....but I don't like any of the stamps.

Thanks guys. The cap is fine imo but the stamps indeed a little odd... Size stamp doesn't trouble me tbh. The 722 Statni code on the other hand could very well be a misconceived embellishment...Agreed.

Cut and stamps are bad, why not wait for a good, unquestionable example.... not that hard to find.

I agree. At first glance, material and insignia "may" be good but it doesn't have a good banana shape expected on any luft OS cap.
