I forgot in the above post to add that the 155/40 T2 can be found Green and Silver finished from factory. Even if it is possible to find several SS buckles from earlier periods been field repainted in green for use by the Waffen-SS, the green painted 155/40 T2 are considered the first SS buckles factory finished exclusively for the Waffen-SS.

    Zinc Buckles (EM/NCO) 1942 to 1945:

    Richard Sieper
RZM 822/42 SS (Green finished + Silver finished)

Zinc Buckles (Officers) 1942 to 1945:

    Overhoff
    RZM 36/42 oLc SS
    RZM 36/43 oLc SS
    ges.gesch. over oLc

    Emil Jüttner
    Marked with EJL logo
    Unmarked

Exact same as SS officer buckles but Gold finished
    Marked with EJL logo

                            NOTE:

It is possible to find those buckles mounted with, at least, two very different kind of prongs if you want to add prong variation to your collecting interest

NOTE: This maker made buckles a very particular way: their wings were straight (see last/third picture). Some collectors are calling those "earless" which is also a good name. This is how those buckles were leaving the factory. Most of the surviving examples are found with those bent over their post-sleeve like any other SS buckle. This was done by their owner (the SS man) probably since it was not really convenient to wear the buckle on a belt when its wings were straight!

Also, if someone wants to investigate further (sorry but I personally lost the interest myself) this maker was probably located in Austria (few makers were located there) since he was also a maker for the Freikorps Steyermark buckle.

NOTE 2: I took those pictures when this buckle was in my collection but now it belongs to your moderator (so please do not send me requests anymore)
