Came across this SA Buckle and belt in a antique shop. I believe these SA buckles with Sonnenrad - Swastika were the 1st Model. I've never handled one before, could members say if they see any issues with it. I forgot to take any measurements, reading through various literature size should be 63mm x 47mm

Thanks Gentlemen for the posts.
The description 1st, 2nd, 3rd model, I did look in Deutsche Koppelschlösser 1919 - 1945 handbook from Lothar Bichlmaier & Lothar Hartung - its their description SA 1. Model with Sonnenrad - in handbook is also - SA 2. Model with sitting swastika - SA 3. Model with standing swastika all three forms were produced in 1936.

Only this, the RZM stated already in 1934 that SA men have to wear a claw buckle (Zweidornschnalle) instead of the box buckle.
Take just a look into a period Assmann sales catalogue. There you can see two variants at the same time.
The classification 1st/ 2nd and 3rd model is just one of these collector things. The mistake here is that one could think that the 1st model was worn in the early years.Last edited by Guido L.; 11-17-2017, 02:44 AM.
