here two very rare wehrwolf buckles from ratisbons :

The officers is interesting. I have never seen the skull without the bones. The construction is like many Imperial officers buckles. The EM is the first one I have seen with the ugly claws. You these on SA buckles so I am not surprised to see it on a Wehrwolf buckle.

Both buckles were times mine, I have received them about 35 years ago directly from the cleaners woman of the family from halle / saale. I had sold her two years ago on the wbk in kassel a dealer.

Here is the Officers that sold on Ratisbon. The bones are missing. Angolia shows one with the bones in his revised edition.

Interesting, never seen before. And I have seen many photos. It could be from early Wehrwolf times 1923/24, when they used strange individual things. Unusual is the detail, that there are no bones and the huge size and stile of the "W".

Well, that guy used a Prussian officer buckle, removed the II and crown and only left the W. After that he added the skull where the crown was before. Even though private made I am sure the buckle is period.

I think the same, it can be a period buckle. Especially if it came from Halle. The early photos from the Wehrwolf shows many things, that are strange and unknown today. I have a 1924 photo with three (!) different kinds of skull armbands for example. Armbands, which I have never seen before.

PS: Until the end in 1933 they wore unique self made buckles.
