    Genuine or not?

    G'day guys,

I have had this buckle in my possession for at least 14 years, and have never really known it's authenticity. It appears to be die-stamped steel & there are no makers marks etc. The catch-ring appears to have been soldered or brazed to the buckle face. Even after referring to Robin Lumsden's book Detecting The Fakes, I'm still not sure. Hopefully someone on this forum can assist.

My intention is, if it's genuine to attempt to sell it on eBay, otherwise it can spend another 15 years sitting on my bookshelf.

    Here are the photos...

Bear with me Chad, my digi obviously has a limited macro capability for the detail you're after. I will try another.

I have uploaded the new pictures of the 'prongs' and removed the inadequate ones so as not to bog down the server with wasted images.

Best I could do with the limited capabilities of my digi-camera.

Drake your buckle looks fine I just needed a look at those prong points to make sure, they are a dead give away if they are cross cut instead of a nice tapered point like yours....ORIGINAL BUCKLE

Thanks Chad - I appreciate you taking the time to help me with this. KALOF - (that's police jargon for Keep A Look Out For) it on eBay.

                Cheers!

Addendum - the eBay Police took me down within a day of placing the buckle in the "WW2 Militaria" section (after I received a few emails from interested parties).

Looks like we'll be sharing a cell Ssteve.
