Regarding the fake officer's posted above, the one at top left started to be made in Hungary in 2001 (and as far as I know is still in production), the one at top right (marked 36/39 on hook) started to be made in Poland then CZ around 2007, the worst at the bottom (RZM M4/91) is known to be a fake even by kids. It is a much older fake been around since forever. Wim Saris could probably tell you more when it was introduced than I could.

Reading this article you are convinced fake SS buckles / boxes / labels are displayed. Which proof can you provide?

Please don't be shy! This is not to distinguish any collector's skills but there is a reason I am asking this question to All of You. So please contribute if the future of belt buckles collecting has any interest for you.

EM's buckles shown by #11, #12, #13, #14, #15 are all repros belonging to the same "V chest" family in spite of different marking, catch shape or colour !

You can buy them for peanuts by any militaria market.

Officer's buckles shown by #16 are all repro as well

I personally wait for Mr. Thayer apologize, since his article appears offensive to any serious buckle collector

Nothing to add to what Ric wrote.
Even if my opinion is only a simple buckle collector's one as many others, my statement is that buckle shown at #11, 12, 13, 14, 15 are the common "V chest" fake buckles.
No knowledge to give opinions about officer's one; not my collection field.

All the EM buckles in posts 11..15 are well known fake, the so called V-chest. They have many wrong features so they are very easy to spot.

Sad to see such misinformation published that many will accept as fact. The correct style of RODO has been known for years and are not shown in the article photos with there being very little variance basically.

I think it is not necessary to say more about the shown buckles, every novice collector is able to detect these obvious fakes nowadays. The web is full with discussions about this fake.
The text of the article has the same quality as the fakes, very low.

The question I have to the author of this new 'reference' is, did the tag came with the box full of buckles?
I mean there are at least 3 errors on the tag, the city seems to be Offenberg (correct is Offenburg), the state Baden-Württemberg (not Württemburg) was founded in the 1950's.
