Since the beginning ADR has shown his total lack of knowledge about SS buckles, but it seems the same about Heer buckles.

By the above article is pictured an example of late war Heer buckle by RODO. All true buckles collectors know this production do not show a bent catch like on SS, and for such reason ADR labels it "A post-war reproduction Robert Dold buckle"

The SS RODO is good and in fact it's completely different from others appearing in Thayer article, the Heer RODO is also good and well known but he defined it as "post war fake"

So ADR's rough classification about RODO production appears obvious :

all SS buckles RODO marked with bent catch are original pre-1945 (no matter if by different dies/box shape/colours) and all buckles RODO marked without bent catch are post war repro , included a well known period Heer buckle

Anyone offering opinions on militaria originality by forums or magazines has a great responsability (my bolding) since a lot of money change hands based on such opinions.

Our loved hobby is just a business for many people, a good reason to burn any bullsh*t pusher, no matter if in good faith or not.

Do not forget reliable Forums became a precious tool for fakers as well.

So any public info must be generic to do not furtherly help rotten people.

After all dies comparison side by side always provide a good help and tell the story, if someone is actually interested in inproving his knowledge (and not his dirty job).

I do not know what is in the gogo's agenda or what kind of new acid he could have found in N.Carolina. But looks like he involved to make readers believing he is the only true God and everybody else, of course including forums, is Satan. Do we need to be concern about this kind of ignorance any more? Funny thing is that he is not really wrong with these jabs, their all true. All the collector needs to figure out is how to apply his criteria and where to apply it and its essentially how the hobby operates. But your giving him much more attention than he deserves and he is clearly getting the better of you.

This is not a dumb guy and he is playing you and he is playing a small percentage of the hobby but a growing percentage of base collector as this type of material gets more and more prevalent on the web, your like the Sunday Newspaper giving the guy free advertising in the culture section. He spits on crap in the market much of which is good and sells his venom to retards that would otherwise be legitimate collectors if they were not getting humped left and right by dealers. Then he continues to spew it like an authority trashing people and items and sells the fakes to the people he is skimming off the top.

Your not very bright, your just playing right into this guys game and he will eat you for breakfast. The web is like the baggage train, everyone has their baggage loaded up down the rails for 10 years. New collectors hit these big dealer sites or if they bother to read these forums they go for the drama. Its poison and navigating it is becoming such a problem for a base collector that a Royster becomes a land shark for the uneducated consumer. By the time the consumer figures it out he will be dead we can hope anyway, but he is a scammer and you are helping him. Good job!!

His agenda by the way as I told you before and he clarified it himself in a response to one of his alter ego's is to destroy the hobby and do to belt buckles what he claims to have done to other areas of collecting. You would be better served if you actually read his material before you threw on your bat cape and jumped in a phone booth.

This is fine, Thanks, I was warned over and over. You are not the only one warning me about the other Guignol. But the problem is that I do not fear the other Guignol. I do not give a damn about the other Guignol. What Guignol does is bad, what Guignol does is for himself. What I do is right, what I do is for the others, What I do does not bring me anything. And you know why I do it? Because nobody else did raise a finger when that dumb article was out. Because it makes 16 years I am helping others to avoid gogos like Guignol.
