    Police Officer brocade

Here I go once again gentlemen,

I've never been a cloth or buckle collector and I'm unable to tell if anything is genuine or not, just a bit of help from you guys is needed.

Here's a complete set that I recently bought from a major dealer, since my last buckle was found to be fake, I don't want to take any chances no more.

    Thanks all for your opinions.

Thank you for your feedback but I don't know what to think.

I had the brocade belt evaluated by an expert on this forum and he thought differently.

I can return the belt to the dealer, no problems, but I just want to make sure to do the right thing.

What is it that make you say that the brocade is bad ?

Is the buckle correct or is the issued just the brocade ?

              Thanks for the infos.

After further review of the pictures, all I can see that seems somewhat unusual, is the fact that there is no horizontal and vertical stitchings along the brocade belt, which is usually the case.

Looks to me like the brocade material may have been salvaged from an original belt and re-sewn to new cloth base along with a new leather tongue.

I will not comment the buckle but the belt is just crap. It is not even a decent reproduction but just a very bad reproduction. Please no offense but it would be faster to state what is right with this brocade rather than what is wrong. Just basics between how to spot an original from a fake does apply in that case.
Just bring your "expert" over and we can get a chat .

Thank you Jean Pierre for your opinion.

I will return the brocade to the dealer but both experts that I spoke to are still considering the brocade to be 100% genuine.

However, they are always open to new reliable opinions and informations.

Reasons for your assessment would be greatly appreciated.

                      Merci

So, why are you returning it? You should keep it with a two for one ratio

I'm returning it simply because he has received the "kiss of death".
I wouldn't want to sell something which isn't textbook, some would but not me, I'm not $ 250 short.

$250 (from a dealer) should have started a red flag

One was sold last week on the estand for much lower than that, I think it went for $ 175 and it was in a better condition.
