    Luft buckle maker

At the SOS, I picked up an enlisted men's Luft buckle marked GHO in a triangle on the back of the buckle. Anyone know what maker this is, how common/uncommon it is and what the approximate value is? Dark finish on front is approximiately 80% with little wear.

Sorry to advise that this is a "fake" mark, often found on copy NS-Studentenbund buckles.

    Regards,

    David

Thanks David, it's okay, I paid repro price ($20). Does anyone have a photo of one of these they can post?

        Hi hcliffe,

While you got your question answered, may I suggest that (to me at least) one of the functions of this forum is to build up a searchable database of both fake and original buckles. So I'm sure pics of your Luft buckle would be a welcome addition. Any chance?

        Kind regards,

        Karl

          I totally agree with Karl.

May we have images of this buckle ?

          Regards,

                Mark

Sorry you cannot see the mark. I'm using a scanner and it is not the best. The mark is between the catch and the eagle.

No need to see the marking, this buckle is original! I have the same in my colection. A bargain for 20$ !!!

                    Gho

                    Marc

It looks as though I may have responded to Harry with wrong information and if so, my sincere apologies.

I have always thought that GHO in a triangle was a fake mark.

If you are confirming that the buckle is sound, even though it bears this logo - who is GHO ?

Have only ever seen this logo on fake NS-Studentenbund.

                    Regards,

                    David

                      Hello David,

I am still traveling in the US so I do not have any documentation with me but I confirm that this marking (barley visible in the picture) do exist on real buckles.
Studentenbund buckles with this marking are indeed fakes.

PS I have send you a email

This post is a couple of years old but I wanted to post some pictures of the buckle in question. Has there been a difinitive answer or constructive arguement on the originality of this buckle and maker mark?

Could this be possibly Gebruder Hahn???

                          Regards,

                          Dan
