ss officer buckle and strap

        Now, a new die design. No more stripes surrounding the swastika disk. Of course, other minor details are different but this one is the obvious.
        Marking sees a change as well: no more space in gesch (O&C ges gesch.) This is a less common marking to find. Let's call it Type 2 for now.

        From that point, any other die been produced by Overhoff will be without the stripes around the swastika disk.

                Then last, the first RZM production made following the above design.

                Note: Keeper has been changed on that one since the buckle was found without any (same as the buckle attached to the belt in this thread).

                      WoW...great info with the different officer dies!

                      The buckle in post 31 looks painted in a matte silver/gray...did the officer nickel buckles come painted?

                        Yes. Exact same as EM's. It is stipulated in uniform regulations for the SS.
                        As a note, the original paint is now gone on this particuliar buckle. The seller found that a bright shine was more attracting and "cleaned" it before selling it to someone else
