      next up is another solid nickel buckle also miss marked, but this time they were confused by the M4 codes system... they obviously had a lot of difficulty with the marking system rules.
      this buckle is marked RZM 3 and should be marked RZM M4/3!

                It is indeed very true, and Thanks to your photos we have the visual evidence Meyer und Franke had a lot of problems to understand the RZM coding system. Yet we should realize all the above mistakes are still within the exact same factory: Meyer und Franke. Some other factories did face similar issues but fortunately it was not the norm, with most makers having a correct understanding of the UE, KH and RZM codification. This is why David's " First series RZM codes as a rule of thumb, correlate with the M1 list." should still be considered as the safest way to put a maker's name on a given production.
                For later production, the same does apply to RZM tags.
