H.Aurich lw tropical belt buckle. web or leather tab?

    Hi Everybody
Could anyone please help me with this.
I just bought a belt buckle a Aurich tropical buckle without web or leather tab, and I was just wandering were the missing tab made of web or leather?

    Mine were bought at the e-stand last week thread;
    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=319597

I´ve tried looking at all the threads with no result, and there are no one
either in Kurtz or John´s( para in N. Africa), so I´m still lost

Do some of you Belt&Buckles collectors have a picture of one, are there a
picture of one in some of the Buckle books? Angolia f.ex I don´t have these books.

    Thanks in advance

Hard to say if it was originally issued with web or leather tab.

        Hello,

this buckle belongs to my collection, most likely issued by the factory without tab

        Best

        Ric

P.S. even if not clearly visible, the buckle is green painted

Do you have a picture of the buckle you bought?

As Ric stated, it is difficult to determine if a leather tab was applied or if it was web. There are photos showing both and there are photos of the buckle without.

Don´t know how to ad picture

I finally found a picture in the AfrikaKorps Kurtz book(forgot I had this book )on page 255 exatly the same color and maker, but on the picture you can´t see the tap, so I´m still lost whether it was a leather or web tab?
but I think it´s a web tab , because Aurich also made
Tropical heer buckles with web tabs for the Afrika Korps.

So the answer still stands for my part

But mine differs from yous Ric, because mine have no paint on the pronge??
so it would indicate a tab. and the color isn´t the same?
The color mine have is quite remarkable because at the thread it´s in strong light and then it´s Sand, but as exactly in the book it´s and lower lightning
it seems darker green?? I guess these colors weren´t picked just by chance And this color don´t peal off , it seems very hard compared to
              others I´ve seen in here.

I'm sorry to say you are wrong : Aurich did produce Heer buckles with web and leather tab, so your question still remains open

My opinion (shared by other collectors) is that buckles with sleeve/prongs painted or finished (JFS) were issued by the factory without tabs : it was probably a way to save time and material (expecially leather).

May you post shots taken with sunlight ?

Here's what you need to post pictures :

Aahhhh About the Pictures!! I will try to be a AM asap, so I also can post pictures. Thanks

I know that Aurich also make them with leather tab, but at what I can understand on some members was that webtabs tents to be on the later tropical, and the lazy H onthe top of an A mark on mine buckle are subdued, indicating later prodution Aurich, so ait only a qualified quess...webtap??
( that doesn´t make a rule either, as there are lots of N&H tropical dated1942)
So Your right the answer still stands..
So If anyone out there have a Aurich LwTropical buckle WITH tab...
                  Please

As for the color (sorry I can´t post the pic in Kurtz Afrika Korps. book page255,so it can be compered to mine
                  http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=319597
                  )
But it´s clearly that there must be some kind of metemari(the dansh word),
that stats that colors who changes color under different souces of light.

I don´t want it to sound too mystic, but only say it looks sandish in strong light
as witha blitz and look darkere greenish in poor light.
a nice copination in the desert, they propably have thought it through.

Thanks for posting the link Ric. Now I can finally see the buckle.

That is the first H.Aurich Luftwaffe tropical buckle I have seen. So, tough question on the tab issue.

Here is one of the few Luft tropical buckles I have encountered without a tab. Both are unmarked. So, could the tab have been removed?

As for Luftwaffe tropical buckles with leather tabs (all dated 1941 or 1942), I have only seen those made by "N&H", "B.Haarmann", and "H.A." (H.Arndt).

Not sure if "GB" made them as well. I do have "GB" buckles in blue on blue web and silver on white web

As for Heer tropical buckles I would like to see one made by "H.Aurich". Does anyone have one they can post?

Here is a green "H.A." buckle with leather tab. Obviously, most of the Luft "H.A." buckles have green web tabs.
