Hi Musketeer There Must Be Low Acid Levels In The Places Where These Where Dug As Theres Hardly Any Corrosion On This Stuff That You Have Dug Up And Cleaned With Oxalic Acid.........sorry Mate Maybe I May Have Been A Bit Hasty On This Subject But With This Evidence I Now Have Changed My Mind As I Now Know What Your Meaning By This Ground Dug Stuff........cheers Sweezz.

But not all ground dugs are in good condition, most of them are destroyed and full of holes...like these one on the photo.

But if you find alu items in Clay soil..they are mostly perfect..

THANKS MUSKETEER I HAVE LEARNED A LOT IN THIS THREAD ON GROUND DUG ITEMS AND ITS VERY MUCH APPRECIATED......AND ITEMS IN CLAY SOIL ARE THE BEST PRESERVED RATHER THAN PEAT SOIL OR ACIDY SOIL A VALUEABLE AND INTERESTING LESSON I HAVE LEARNED TONIGHT .......MANY THANKS SWEEZZ.
