Fake or genuine?
Hi
I have just joined and was hoping to post a couple of pictures of a buckle I bought from a junk shop here in Mariupol, south-eastern Ukraine where I am working at the moment. I don't seem to be able to though. I didn't know anything at all about SS belt buckles until I bought it...
I have looked through the pictures of fakes which have been posted here and I am certain that it is not one of those. The markings on the back are RMZ in two concentric circles, 36/42 and SS in two concentric circles. It is made of steel I think. The front is in clear and detailed relief, if a bit scratched, and the indentations on the back of the buckle are brown and have stains commensurate with age. It appears aged but I am not naïve as to think this aging can't be contrived. Is it likely to be a fake? Is it worth working out how to post some pictures for a good look at it?
Thank you.
