This is the Weimer time pre-war Kriegsmarine stamping, and you can find it in some pievces until 1936-7. Nice one and reare to find in a buckle .Collector of Kriegsmarine and Küstenartillerie items

Craig..I don't like it. I have looked at hundreds of KM Crown and Eagle M markings, mostly on Lugers, other types of small auto pistols and leather and the Crown or Eagle is most always right on top of the M . This one is so far away from the M I believe it's a phony. On top of this I have looked at my share of these KM buckles and this is the first I have ever seen with an Eagle M marking on one of these. My gut says it isn't right.

Karl makes an excellent point! Rick, an excellent photo and a good reference...This eagle is off the top of the M but the buckle Eagle looks just too high off to me. Like I said..it's a gut feeling for me as I know next to nothing about these little Navy buckles.
I collect box buckles. Jerry Burney

You're right, senior NCOs (Portepee-Unteroffiziere) were allowed the dagger and, consequently, the narrow blue belt with oval gold buckle. Neither the dagger, nor the belt and buckle, were issue items, however.

Hi Eduardo,
Yes, I would like to retract what I said earlier about issue pieces. The sword you show is very compelling evidence, and I have now been told by Musketeer that that there are daggers with Weimar acceptance stamps, and swords with Imperial stamps as well. So, if swords and daggers were issued, it stands to reason that sword belts with their buckles were issued as well. In 25 years of collecting buckles, I've never seen such a buckle with an acceptance stamp before this one. Of course that's just my experience, perhaps some others can chime in?
Best regards,
Karl
