I'm afraid there is a little chance to see a buckle from 1943 with a leather tab, because I think, that 1942 was last official year of buckles with leather tabs.

Are there any proved pieces from 1943 with a leather tongue out there?

43 with tab is indeed not common but the above buckle is original.
