Hi guys, got a picture back today from a guy who is selling this RLB buckle. it turns out it is a two piece. I have never seen a two piece RLB before. Is this genuine or a fake?

Personally - I would not touch this buckle with a barge pole.

In theory, there is no reason whatsoever as to why this buckle should not be found as "two piece". The one that you have shown however, does surface from time to time and again, one that I have never been a real devotee of.
I just do not like it.
Attached are images of a "fantasy" Der Stahlhelm.
The same "box" and "claws" perhaps ?

I tell you what David, they are very similar. I was also going by a very good friend of mine who has been collecting buckles for years who also says in all his time collecting and looking for buckles he has never seen one of these. But in this game there is always a first Thanks again for help though David.. happy Xmas.

not long ago i saw this buckle for sale on english site with copies for 25$ !!!!
damn i need to find adress of that site because now i dont remember ....
i have posted the photos of the same rlb buckle as Yours regiment739 in a thread that David put in this disscusion, it was for sale on allegro <polish auctions site >!!!
In my opinion it is fantasy construction of RLB buckle !!!

In connection with the aluminium "boxes" employed by the two fantasy buckles.
I think that the same tool has been used.
Any thoughts about the pattern and flow of the beading ?
