Personally - I would not touch this buckle with a barge pole.

      Have a squint at this:-

Many thanks for that David, I have never seen a two piece one before so thats why I asked. I always thought they were one piece only, but I am no expert.

In theory, there is no reason whatsoever as to why this buckle should not be found as "two piece". The one that you have shown however, does surface from time to time and again, one that I have never been a real devotee of.

I just do not like it.

Attached are images of a "fantasy" Der Stahlhelm.

The same "box" and "claws" perhaps ?

          Regards,

          David

I tell you what David, they are very similar. I was also going by a very good friend of mine who has been collecting buckles for years who also says in all his time collecting and looking for buckles he has never seen one of these. But in this game there is always a first Thanks again for help though David.. happy Xmas.

In connection with the aluminium "boxes" employed by the two fantasy buckles.

I think that the same tool has been used.

Any thoughts about the pattern and flow of the beading ?

                          Regards,
