Show your Variant shape DJ buckles!

Hi all,

My two 'black' DJ have been posted previously. They are stamped nickle, with the body covered with black paint, and the rune nickle. One is 45mm, the other is 35mm. The shape of the rune corresponds exactly to the official DJ. I have seen, but do not own, two-piece constructions with the rune attached by prongs of various shapes and sizes, and if I recall correctly, Bandau had one with an RZM mark (!) in his collection, which is alas long dispersed. Personally, I have no doubt that (mst of) these are quite original, as obviously is David's absolutely beautiful nickle with black rune (drool!!). I still believe the one shown some time ago acquired from Weitze is bad though. Never been able to find out who this variant was for .

I for one would like to see your DJ's re posted, even though they have been seen before. There are buckles of mine probably on the third trip to the Forum and do not forget, there are past threads which are now just a distant memory and also, the involvement now of new Forum members, suggesting that re posting is quite important.

We look forward to seeing them and also, this being an open invitation to the Forum - just bash any DJ onto this thread !

The "Black" DJ per se is an oddity and mea culpa in relation to the German dealers buckle that you refer to. Even though I have passed it on to a Forum member with the caveat and in utmost good faith of a large question mark hovering, on reflection I now feel more comfortable with the damn thing and wished that I had not sold it. How the wheel turns, although I do rather like the one recently posted by Maik !

One thing is for certain though Karl, the huge variation of DJ's is obviously quite remarkable and worthy perhaps, of someone to instigate detailed research and investigation.

For what it`s worth, here they are again, and looking at them again I just saw that the runes are very different on each one - so who knows what they are?

Great is probably not the right word, it is a DREAM!!!

Here is an early photo of a DJ group. Some wear small or normal size SA buckles, but five of them wear the 35 mm black DJ buckle!
