Hi

I don't understand this very well. why all this effort to make this vehicle but it lacks all the correct details. The time and effort to make a part from scratch takes as long to make a correct part as an incorrect part. You just need to copy original parts and replicate them. In general this looks like an StuG III Ausf B and for movie use it would fool everybody. To put it in a museum it has to be yet more correctly detailed I suppose, or do the only count to have "average not that specialist visitors" ?
I see disproportionate sections , the entire running gear, including the tracklinks, are replica and not like the original parts ...so whats the real value of having a lookalike that pretends to be the real thing?
Another German museum like the Sinsheim Museum has several incorrect restorations using original chassis but completed with lots of incorrect replica parts. (like the StuH 42 which is actually a partly cut Pz III ausf M chassis but the entire superstructure is completely wrong and fake) I thought nowadays with the high restoration standards we were beyond this 1970' restoration style phase.

I read somewhere that people don't go to museums to learn any more but just for a day out. Looking at a load of tanks in a hall with lots of other tanks in BORING but seeing tanks driving around in the mud is much more interesting, they don't care if they are not oringinal or 100% correct, most probably don't even know what they are actually looking at. When I was a child we went to the Bovington tank museum to look at tanks, because that is what you have in a tank museum. I cant remember being bored and if we were we were told about ourselves by our parents, now they have put a bloody kids play park in one of the halls right in front of the TOG tank, obviously tanks arn't important anymore. It's all about money, profit and it pisses me right off.

StuG updates: Hello every one, here is the latest update. The "Prototype" Stug III Ausf B model which has been shown on this forum for the past few days (thank you to the admins) has found its permanent home at the Stammheim museum. We are now moving into the production phase of the project. We would really like to thank all of you "StuG experts" who have shared comments, feedback, and suggestions. Rest assured the production models will address some if not most of the suggestions you had ie: road-wheels. It was important for us to get initial/early feedback from this group as we want to be as "perfect" as possible while still being able to manufacture quickly and in mass and keep costs reasonable for all.

We will continue to keep this group updated but to keep things more focused and not to over saturate this Facebook group we encourage you to follow all of the updates on our Facebook page "one 2 one industries". There you will find more photos, videos and project updates.
