    King Tiger in Berlin?

A friend of mine sent me this pic, and believes it to be a pic of a Tiger II in Berlin.
I am not up on this area at all, but it would seem unusual for any action photos to have been taken during the battle.
Anyone know when/where it was taken?

Could be the Reichstag in the background - but I would expect more damage and rubble on the street in 1945...

Yes picture was taken on the 15th of Oct. 1944. The tank is standing before the National Gallery and the barrel is facing the Szent György street. This is the exact spot.

              Hi,

              https://www.worldwarphotos.info/gall...r2/tiger-ii-9/

Picture below : probably the same Tiger has now entered the National Gallery and is now in the central square (check the Google Earth map posted by J. Csernus).

              See You

Most probably not, but it there's a few hours time gap between the two pictures. The first one was taken from the Barracks of the Royal Bodyguards, (This building do not exist today) most probably just before the brief fighting between the Bodyguards and the SS troops, while on the second picture you can see the German and Hungarian troops together.

                          TIGER II Budapest!

A második kép valóban a belső udvarban készült.

For those who are not familiar with the Hungarian language, two more pictures about the place where the first picture was taken.
