I agree. Also it'll be too narrow for a Panzer II link, being the same width as a Panzer I link. Panzer I and Maultier are 280mm, Panzer II is 300mm.

        Hi Steve

how could you tell its narrower? there is no scale on the pic.
actually the link itselfs for pz 1/maultier 3 ton :measures 26 cm and the link for panzer II/maultier 4.5 ton : measures 28cm. both these specific links with these ice crips are for the maultier versions .

with trackpin the tracklink can measure around 28cm for the Pz1 and 30 cm for the Pz2

The same goes for the so called "40 cm tracks " for Pz3 and Pz 4 and their derivates. The tracklink itself actually measures 38 cm at the widest point....40 cm can be reached with the trackpin in it

        cheers

Sorry, I was including the track pin in the width, I just lazily pulled a copy of Spielberger off the shelf and looked it up rather than go downstairs and measure my own links.

It was simply the ice cleats that made me believe it's for a Maultier. I don't think the PzII tracks had cast-in cleats, did they?
