    Nice comparison ! Thanks !

    Panther 'D' shackle …
Does D sets for the shape of the shackle ? Or is it Panther model D ?
I have shackles for Panther A or G... We rather say U Shackle.

      'D' Shackle.

      Hi all,
Yes Eric, in my Military role I was a Recovery Mechanic the types shackles that we mainly used were 'D' or 'Bow' Shackles. This refers to the shape of the shackle.
So it's what you call the 'U' shape of shackle.
      Kind regards, Pete

          'S' Hook Link.

          Hi All,

Just to let you know that I have started a new tread specifically for 'S' Hooks

          http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=974814

I know some may not find 'S' Hooks as exciting as the 'C' Hooks, but I personally think that they are just as important in the Recovery/Equipment role.

Your inputs and contributions will be greatly appreciated.

          Kind regards,

          Pete.

                Hi 'tintin44'

Thanks for posting your great find 'tintin44'

It will be interesting to see what these look like after a bit of a Clean-Up

Please post several pictures of your Medium 'C' Hook - and it will be interesting to see if the Locking Device works ok.

But please be very careful and don't try and force it

Could you please also let us know in what general area these were found - thanks.

                Kind regards,
                Pete.

It is 2 panzers who following the destruction of the bridge by the German pioneer, got bogged down near the river to leave my village on 17 08 1944, direction Putanges, Chambois. It is probably a beutepanzer 21 Pz and sutg (pzIV?) 17 or 10 ss

                    Great pictures 'tintin44'

The Track Links seem to be in very nice condition for their age.
What type of soil did you dig them out of ?

It is always nice to get the History of any finds like yours.

Keep up the good work and please post photos of the 'C' Hook as well.

                    Kind regards,
                    Pete.

Who can identify the circular part ?

                        Thanks for the photos 'tintin44',

Sorry - not an item that I'm familiar with - but I'm sure someone out there will know what it is.
Please post some more photos of it from different angles - this will make it easier to identify.

I will have a look at some Tank photos to see if there is anything similar.

                        Kind regards,
                        Pete.

                            C Hook

                            Hi tintin44,

That C Hook looks to be in great condition.
Does the locking device work ok - or does it need freeing off ?

Please post some more pictures - especially of the letters area and also of the base plug.

                            Where was it found ?
It's always interesting to see where the items are still in the ground - and what else was found with it.

                            Kind regards,
                            Pete.
