    Sorting out what the connection box looked like took some research time but I found it in the end.

      Last item for tonight, is the tool box below the small control panel, it slides over a bracket that bolts to the side of the hull. You can also see where the electrical junction box is situated.

      That's all folks.

        I really admire your work!

        could it be that what you are referring to as a connection box is
        in fact the fuse panel?

        looks just the same on older porsches:

          You are correct but I already have fuses and relays for the electrics situated next to my engine ECU, so unless I had to, I wouldn't want to introduce a second set just to confuse the issue.

              a hell of work you are working, always amazed about your work and your energy. I rework a R12 in the moment what is nothing compared to your tank but I am also amazed for the metal energy it takes sometimes.

                Hi Johan,

                Interesting to see all of the interior detail parts going in, also the accuracy of the build but with the pragmatic adaptation such as the cover panels etc to improve access to vital bits and pieces.

                Looking at the hull filling up, I hope you are of "panzer crew build" and not "Grenadier Guard dimensions" Be a bugger if you didn't fit !!

                    Your R12 will be a wonderful machine when it's finished, I think any job takes time and effort to do properly, rush and you will regret it later on. When we take on these restorations or silly projects, little do we realise where the journey will take us and how much it will cost.

                    You could be right, maybe I won't fit in. I am 1800mm tall in socks and 14 stone, not a fatty but not slim and it's going to be tight, especially height wise.
                    Overall height 1955mm minus ground clearance of 310mm, minus the raised floor height, 175mm, minus the thickness of the turret flaps, 50mm, total internal height at the centre of the turret, 1420mm. To get to the drivers position, without clouting your head would be a miracle and how they managed to escape if the tank got hit, is beyond me. Yes the driver has a front hatch but my son and I have tried using it and unless you are tiny, it's not a quick or easy option.

                        Blimey I am not that quick, the last update was only on the 2nd December 2019.
                        Things have slowed right down as we are looking after my mother who has a terminal case of cancer. I don't begrudge her a second of my time and as such, other less important things have to go on the back burner. However I am still making progress but I am concentrating on the smaller items that are less involved.

                        Have no fear, I don't start things that I can't finish, unless my death intervenes.

                          Hey Jon thats the most important thing at this time, looking after your Mother, that has that sick decease! I just lost my Mother in June, see had a ex-ray for a suspected broken bone in the low back, and they discovered a tumour, and 3 weeks later she was gone, I really expected her to reach 100, as she was a vey healthy lady.

                          I hope you Mum gets thought it mate,

                            Mum Had breathing difficulties at the end of Jul, incredibly my sister who was with her at the time wouldn't call an ambulance as she was still breathing. I took her straight to A&E where they diagnosed pneumonia and sepsis. The next day when we went to see her, they informed us that she has advanced Cancer in her kidney, both lungs and other unspecified areas. She's still going, with no obvious signs of the cancer other than massive weight loss. Over the last 2 weeks she has gone down hill but she is a tough old bugger.

                            As an aside and to bring it back to WW2. Her father was a maintenance engineer in the factory where my Chevrolet CMP HUP was assembled in Slough and as a young girl she, her mother and sister, were strafed by a German fighter whilst out black berry picking.
