        Planetary drive from the steering gear.

          Part 3 looks like a planetary reduction gear for a final drive i.e. part of the sprocket gearing.

            There is no planetary gear in a final drive of Pz.III.

                Last sunday findings, related to the Stug III.

                Aditional armor for the schürzen side armor, have not seen it on any picture jet.
                This plate is in bad condition, It was in used buy sauna stove, but there is another panel still in woods in good condition.

                      Oooh, couple of nice Ostketten links there!

                      Tom, I think the point that RTY is making is that this is a StuGIII wreck (PZ III chassis), so it can't be a final drive planetary gear.
