      Smaller military NSU

      Here's a smaller military NSU, a 251OSL (250cc, actually 241cc) derived from a civilian model.
Image from a Polish museum (with a ZUndapp KS 600 in the back ground!)

                My NSU , a 1943 "wehrmachtsausfuhrung"

Here's my NSU 251 OSL. This is a 1943 military contract bike (wehrmachtsausfuhrung) which was found in Bulgaria several years ago. Now in civilian paint scheme and some other minor issues like wrong handlebars/controls....
But still complete and amazingly the engine and frame numbers are matching!!

Its a mid/late war "grauguss" (pot metal) "kriegs" (war) engine block...when aluminum was being conserved...so it lacks the cooling ribs. It comes with a military skid plate (carter/engine protection plate) which is not visible in the image...(not mounted)

                      tag (241cc, 4 stroke engine)

Military contract builder tag dated 1943 and shows engine and frame numbers (which match the block!)
Info includes "Radio Interference check" (entstort nach Gruppe III) Wehrmacht info on tag!
NSU used a smaller engine in comparison with the DKW 351 (350cc), only 241cc, but its a 4 stroke! Runs like a bigger (quieter) engine!

                        my other toy

unrelated to this thread (on NSU's) here's my other toy a 1939 Zundapp KS600 (non runner) which I am in the process of selling.... so I can raise some funds and hopefully soon finish (and enjoy) my NSU an easier restoration for sure!!!
I will miss this big beast (schweres krad) though!

Their own bike? Museum bikes? Military or civilian like a Pony? or period images?
                              Thanks
