When I went to Saumur, many years ago, the collection on display wasn't that large (most of it then wasn't on show to the public) but I believe you get to see much more now. I got a booklet when I was there and it shows a warehouse full of tank components - mostly German, so it would not surprise me that more of these were being restored. I also believe that the museums source parts from each other.
One highlight of that trip was the museum was virtually empty of visitors so I squeezed through (and I do mean squeezed!) the escape hatch of a Pz III, down between the bogy wheels and road wheels, and had a good look around inside... sat in the gunners seat and traversed the turret slightly by the hand crank (didn't want to move it too much). That was really cool!
Bovington also has a great display and I believe that in the last week of July they take out all the runners for public display. That includes (if memory serves) a Pz IV, the new restored Tiger I, and a Panther(?). or maybe it was a stumgeshultz…
The imperial war museum for aircraft at Duxford also has some tanks and an 88 in a street-fighting scene, with mannequins dressed as Waffen SS troopers and Russian infantry.

I was last there in early 90's.
Appears to be a much larger collection than it was then.
At that time their Jagdpanther , Panther and Tiger 1 were in a line together and the Tiger II was slightly to the left of them .
Along the right hand side of the hall was a row of tanks destroyed in action. Amongest them was a Mk IV which still had solid shot lodged in its side armour.
Would certainly like to go back again , perhaps next year.
Past issues of "After The Battle" have given coverage to the recovery of "lost" tanks all of which have come to Samur.
as stated befor the Bovingtons Tiger is due to run at the Tankfest on 23 / 5 / 2004 and due to the problems they have had with it this could be the last (if not only display ) of it running.
Those in the Maryland, USA area need to pay a visit to Aberdeen Proving Ground. They have a Royal Tiger, Jagdtiger, and panzers in different varients. Plus about a hundred other pieces of armor. My pictures are packed right now, but I'll try and post some when I get the chance.

Hhmmm, no King Tiger at APG that I'm aware of, either on display or in storage or restoration. Hopefully they will soon be able to construct shelters for their collection as the vehicles by the museum are in dreadful condition. According to the curator, Dr. Atwater, their Tiger will not come back until a suitable protected storage is built.
I see on the list shows that a Tiger IE is at Sinsheim Auto-Tecknik Museum on loan from Aberdeen. That Tiger is long gone from Sinsheim....I would say for more than 10 years now. I believe it went to where it was originally supposed to have gone The Armee museum at Muester-lager for restoration. Bill
No kidding? The KT is gone from Aberdeen? Dang. It's a shame, I had fun climbing over that one. One point of note about there...I'd go in the spring or fall. The reason? Wasps love the tanks, and build nests all over em. I found out the hard way.

That shows how long it's been since i've been there.... At least it went to a good home. My last visit was probably 10 years ago, at least.

The Patton Museum traded an MBT-70 to APG in 1991 in exchange for King Tiger #332. While it's restored paint job isn't 100% accurate, it's displayed in better shape now.
Here's what 332 looked like at Knox after its arrival in 1991.
