Robert, nice vehicle! I just hope you are very handy, because i think you will have to make a lot of parts yourself. These early vehicles do have their charm, in that they sometimes look like "show-armor".

I think the halftrack in Lloyd's pictures is of a later type (a "C" or a "D")- the body is much larger and has a different shape; more troops can be transported in that one.

"Due to insufficient thin armor plate manufacturing capacity, in early 1939 contracts were awarded for the assembly of 305 ungepanzerte (unarmored) m.M.T.W. (Sd.Kfz.251). If the Wanne (bodies) were constructed out of 4 mm thick unhardened carbon steel, they would have been proof against lead bullets fired from 7,92 mm rifles and machineguns. I should check if i still have the parts catalogues for the SdKfz 251 lying somewhere. I'm not home at this moment, but I think I sold them with a load of 251 parts to a French collector who has enough parts to assemble 3-4 SdKfz 251!

There was one about 1,5 years ago in England for 110 000 euros, which I beleived was to much at that time.

Unfortunately no! My first vehicle is going to be a kubelwagen next summer then maybe a kettenkrad? Just interested to find out the price for possible future purchase.

I would have said that was cheap £77,000 if its all origional i would have said a fully restored running 251 ausf.D would be about £150,000??

All depends on what people are prepared to pay
There is one kicking about thats around 70% original this may have been the one?
