essentially fantastic pics. effect is a little 'Tamya-esque'. each component seems painted seperately and stuck on, not weathered together, camo jacket whites too white, too box fresh..though still fantastic vehicles and great setting.
Hallo Friend... Thanks for the feedback. I am not sure what "Tamya-esque" means, perhaps an English or Euro term.
As far as not dirty or weathered enough, check these pics and maybe re-evaluate. We were basically showing the difference between a 222 and crew that has been at the front for quite a while, and another one and crew that just got to the front, a common occurance as new men and supplies of course were constantly being sent (ideally/hopefully!)
I think if I looked any dirtier or more raggedy it would be too much for an Offizier, even a veteran one on the Ostfront. It is all a matter of interpretation and what you are trying to portray or show.
All comments always appreciated though.
And as far as items that appear to be cut and pasted on etc., when you put something onto a huge piece of metal , like an AFV, there really is no way to meld it into the machine so it looks natural.
On my 222 here on the back just as an FYI I have the following items attached on the right rear side:
- on both sides above the rear lights are two Teller mines and cases. These are rigged so the box pops over, the mine falls out into your hands and the box stays in place. Under each of those is a Zeltbahn. On top of it there is a medics bag of first aid items, two folding camp chairs, a gas can and a wash basin. On the other side there is also a gas can, Zeltbahn, Teller mine, coil of barbed wire and motorcycle metal 'saddle bag'.
Danke ! That has been my job, goal and hobby for past 42 years ! ha ha!
Here is a pic from 1970 and another one a few years later and another one years later still. I was one of the very first WWII German reenactors in the country and been doing it non stop ever since. Back then every thing we wore and used was originals because no one was reproducing the uniforms and field gear etc and all the original stuff was cheap and we knew no different.
Everything looks great...as long as some drone operator doesn't spot you guys and think your an invasion force from Argentina...you should be O.K. Keep up the good work, and most of all...keep having fun! Thanks for sharing, you guys just need a couple of stugs to round out your patrol.
