By coincidence , just seen a new print by David Pentland, (Who knows his panzers ) 'The Last Battle . Berlin April 1945, Kurt Heinz Turk, 503 Battalion'. Available from Cranston Fine Arts , Scotland. A web search should bring up websies. Great picture shows Konigstiger accompanied by what appear to be SS infantry, amongst the ruins, real 'Twilight of the Gods ' atmosphere.

Tiger II in Berlin

Six King Tigers from sSSPzAbt 503 attached to 11th Waffen SS Panzergrenadier "Nordland" took part in the defense of Berlin.
On May 2nd, last King Tiger from sSSPzAbt 503 was destroyed during an attempt to break out of the city on the Spandau Bridge.

Do you have any idea who was the commander of the Tiger I (turret number 323) that was destroyed in Tiergarten near the Brandenburg Gate? I assume that this tank was part of the Pz Rgt Müncheberg, but which battalion/company/platoon?
