Hi Ronny, thanks for showing these examples, what a unique reverse hardware setup. Is this type of Wound Badge the only one that has this type of unique hardware? Do you know of any examples where the GM is stamped in on the badge itself rather than the hardware?

I wonder if the GM marking is for the hardware manufacturer rather than the actual maker of the wound badge? That might be the case unless we know of examples where the GM is stamped onto the badge itself.

And I guess my last question is do we know of any Wound Badge makers with the initials "GM"?

          Thanks

          Tom
If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

            Hi Tom,

these Cupal "GM" badges has always been debated, especially the hardware. Some RAD badges like the RADwJ Abzeichen uses similar type of hardware but i for one have never seen an identical like on these Wound badges.

But there are all 3 types of Wound badges with the same hardware; Type 1 (Legion Condor), WWII and the Imperial wound badges.

Here is a link to the latest wild theory about a maker behind them

There are also a DRGM theory behind this GM marking which Mike takes up in the last link
