I disagree, this piece is not genuine.
There is not a single reference that I could find of this badge being awarded or used. No period photographs, no mentions in any books, nor any documents or advertisement pieces related to production. IMO its a fantasy badge w/ the likes of other enamel badges produced in the 50s-70s that used the names of companies that produced in WW2 such as Carl Poellath and Gustav Bremer.
In fact, after doing extensive research into this badge I could not find a single authentic / approved example anywhere either, nor on any forum, WAF included.
The construction of the pin on the reverse is consistent with this style of other known fake olympic enamel pieces and this particular badge has only popped up on websites that sell fakes and is even photographed with other fakes (see photos below).

NY diggers motives
He saw this badge on a FB page..said he thought fake,,told me to join WAF and learn up..LOL so i posted here, with no urging, It got a a nice response, I showed him,,he became irate and posted his angry "opinion"
relax , there are many thing up in the air to this day..like Baqueville badges.. I have every reason to believe this is a good one.. maybe NY digger doesnt...OK move along.
