Not exactly a tinnie,
but interesting nonetheless as it ties in with James' "Iron for Gold" piece posted recently.
This 1916 bracelet from Germany, which was at that time received in return for a donated gold item, proclaims "Gold for Defense; Iron for Honor" and "In the Iron Epoch". It's exceptionally well made, has a great patina and a nice "worn" look.
I suspect it was a necklace at the time of the "trade", shortened into a large bracelet later on. The clasp, though very well made and quite ornamental, appears to be a replacement, probably affected at the time of the piece's foreshortening.
All in all, a nice collectible with a history.Attached Files-Ralph Abercrombie
