Thank You all...but!
Hello Everybody,
Thanks for interest and all the kind words - much appreciated However I'm worried that things might not be as they appear
First of all to all the questions and remarks, I didn't find this ensemble by myself but a contact of mine in Germany who's connection found this about a month ago on the attic at the residence where the Oberbürgermeister of Leipzig-Miltitz once lived. I have recived this group in two shipments (visor and pole top along with something quite different) hence I posted the pole top first because I found that one suspecious (and actually still do). And yes, my heart did indeed sit in my throat when opening the suitcase where all the other goodies were stashed in - and I were a bit affraid to touch it at first sight with my sweaty palms
Let me put this straight once and for all...I will never split such a group (if it's for real) ...I'd rather eat a bullet! - And that goes for any other group or pieces wich belongs together...simply
Now to some background info on this purchase of mine. There is no proof (photos, documents ect.) what so ever that these things belongs to one person only. Also my contact told me that this Oberbürgermeister of Leipzig-Miltitz did walk in this suit with this standarte at the opening of the 1936 Olympics...still no proof of that (I don't think the sticker on the suitcase is proof enough of that - or?) - except the word given by my connection, wich is why I didn't mention this. Gladly to my surprice I saw Dennis raised this particular question wich made me a bit calm.
Since I couldn't even get a name on the person of these belongings from my connection I felt a bit . However I thought the price was within reason if all items were genuine and I've only got one fake item so far from this particular connection of mine through the past year.
Also it did look good on the photo copys I recived and I liked description given by phone, so I thought; "who snoozes - looses " and took the chance and went for it since it was one of a kind oppotunity...I mean who wouldn't...things like this doesn't exactly hang on trees
A good friend of mine have poked arround a bit on my behalf on his own hand sort of say, trying to figure out wether I got a rubber duck or the real McCoy to wich I'm very greatfull...thanks mate for watching me back
I shouldn't be worried about the standarte, belt & buckle wich are 100% genuine and I don't think the tie or the suitcase incl. sticker should cause any trouble as well. Then there is the visor, tunic, breeches and the pole top left wich I hope You guys would be kind enough to help me with as I'm certinly no Einstein at these particular things.
I will post some additional photos on this thread of the uniform as well as some issues I have of this ensemble. The visor goes to the Headgear forum trying to get more input on it there. Since I'm no expert I don't know exactly what to look for or make shots of - so please don't hesitate to ask for futher pictures.
Cheers,
Carsten

I've now posted some additional photos of the Visor in the Headgear Forum please take a look: http://www.wehrmacht-awards.net/foru...5506post825506
First additional photo will be of comparing the piping of the tunic, collar tab and visor. All in three different shades. Actually I thought the visor were from NSDAP Justice department when I first saw as it's significent darker than the piping on the tunic. I don't know if such is OK or notAttached Files

I think this photo speaks for itself but as You see the pants (breeches) are much darker than the tunic and the visor is of totally different fabric...hence my worries - also because the visor seems to have more damage as well as wear as the other things...well all of the cloth pieces do have some kind of moth damage or similar so it could be OK, but I'm certinly not sure.Attached Files

why dont you try and get footage of all major civil events and see if any of the uniforms and banners match yours. i would have thought the olympics and rallies where filmed loads. some in colour.

Lets move on to the tunic...actually I don't know where to start so it might be a bit messy, but I hope You can find Your way through the thread.
First up is a shot of the right upper pocket. To Coasties question...no there are absolutely no signs of a party badge or any badge at all to wich I'm as I expected to see atleast loops for a large GPB wich I belive would be appropriate for such a rank - right?
If such an ensemble just were worn on this occation...wouldn't they have worn their awards i full style or just plain uniform I haven't succeeded finding any suitable fotos that could throw some light to this subject.Attached Files
