Now to the big one...Die Standarte It measures approximately 133 x 113 centimeters without the fringes.

The pole top wich I've posted a couple of days ago can be seen here: http://www.wehrmacht-awards.net/foru...ad.php?t=92591

Sadly it's a bit fragile as to the wear it got...otherwise I could feel tempted to try it out and let it fly for a a couple of minutes on the flag pole I don't have

Somewhat unusual to me but the carabin hooks does look legit to the Standarte....or?

Ba-de-ba-de...That's All Folks I hope You enjoyed my little show of my "collecting grand prize" wich I would call it.

If the items indeed are all belongings of one person it's a keeper for sure. In that case the next will be the cross strap, pistol holster, jack boots and a flag pole to complete it.

I'll let the last photo wrap it up.

              Cheers,
              Carsten

Super grouping and beautiful tunic! Every piece is in super nice condition. The complete tunic set is one of the nicest I've ever seen.

                  Great addition to your collection,
                  Mike

Outstanding! well worth the price of admission. One speculative question: Does it appear to have any pin holes around the left pocket where a party pin may have been attached?

Very nice nice find my friend...... Can you post the belt & buckle over in the buckle forum as I'm sure that they would love to see it & the same with the cap in the headgear forum...... Some of our members never venture to this dark corner of the forum (can't imagine why, it's my favorite place ) & would otherwise miss this find.

                      Cheers
                      Don

What a nice group. I hope your planning on keeping it all together. May I ask what you paid for the lot. You said it "broke you", but you will come by more $$$ without a doubt. To come by another group like this - together.... I don't think so. Great find, thanks for sharing!

                        Take care.

So from this it would look like he was the flag bearer for his region at the 1936 olympics. it was a outfit just for that occasion ?

have you treid to find any pictures of the opening ceremony to see if you can see the flag at all ?
very very nice though. you should keep together and not split for sure.

my understanding is that the mayor of Leipzig commited suicide with his wife before the city was captured...i have a picture of him and his wife taken in his office dead somewhere i believe.....ill see if i can find it...
