In my opinion, the example published by Bob is original. It is a clear example of the period 1943-1945.

It must be taken into account that the specimens manufactured in the last period of the conflict are rougher and have worse finishing than the Godet specimens of the period 1939-1943.

There are small differences in these models.

    Look for a comparison

This example was in my collection until I sold it ... (now I regret it). It was purchased directly from the relatives of the winner.

He also had a 5 on the fan indicating that it is a fifth class of 1943-1945

The example I purchased and returned to Bob did not have a “5” anywhere on the medal, which per Angolia should be there.

In addition the medal just posted does not have the two “dimples’ that were on both sides of the fan in the medal I bought.

These dimples on both sides of the fan was evidence of casting in the opinion of the jeweler who examined it.

Not all the crosses of fifth class of 1943-1945 have the 5 in the fan ... in fact those that have it are more rare to see.

The crosses of fifth class of 1943-1945 show some of these markings:

              1- "900 21" on the ring

2- "21" on the ring and "5" on the fan

3-"900 21" in the ring and "5" on the fan

For me, Bob's example is 100% original and his jeweler is wrong.

As for "dimples", I do not know exactly what you are referring to ... I would appreciate an image where you clearly indicate what you are referring to.

Fiends Pete to upload images, follow the steps below:
1-Click on the "POST REPLY" button.

2-In the next window, in the big box, write what you want and then go down until you see the "MANAGE ATTACHMENTS" button ... a new window will open.

3-In the new window use the buttons "EXAMINE". When you click on one of these buttons, a window opens on your computer where you should look for the image you want to upload.

4-Choose the image by pressing twice with the mouse on it.

5-Click upload if you only want to upload an image. If you want to upload two images, do the same on the other "EXAMINE" button. Once the image or images have been selected, click on the "UPLOAD" button and wait for it to load ... you will see the name of the image and its extension in yellow ... for example "IMGP022.JPG"

6-Once the images have been uploaded to the WAF server, click on the "CLOSE THIS WINDOW" button

7-Now you just need to give the button "SUBMIT REPLY" ..... you have to hit the "submit reply" button under "manage attachments" and not the one above ... try and see that It is easy

                  I hope I've helped

Your image failed to upload to the WAF server because it was very large. I've reduced it by 25% and converted to jpg because it was a PNG.

These "dimples" appear in the fans of many of the fifth class crosses of 1943-1945 ... for me they do not pose a problem.

It may be because of the small design changes that were implemented in the German Eagle Order in the last period .

In the first image, the example that I wanted to upload ironfirst. In the second image another example of my database with those "dimples"
