Hello All.
I picked this up at a fair today in France - no doubts its one of the most debated Axis Party Badges.
If they have any chance of being real then they must be early 30s as the Hungarian Arrow Cross Party had its own form of badge when they took power in Hungary in 1944. The badge is saying "The Germans in Hungary National Union", so its a sign of support by wearers of Germans residing in Hungary.
Certainly there are fakes of these seen many, but all have very thin arms to the Sun-wheel Swastika and a coffin shape pin holder on the reverse. I have been wanting one for a while because of the Hungarian connection - fake or not, I like them.
If I would have to say I would say these were produced in the 70s as the enamel has a very slight blur at the edge on the cross, but yet again who knows?
Comments welcome - thanks in advance for your valued help.
Cheers Dave.
