Rare Postal Police Tinnie Help Please!!!

Ok. I think I found out what this tinnie is. Its from the Deutschen Auslandsbriefprufstelle (A.B.P) which if I understand it correctly, is the Postal Police? I assume this is a rare tinnie? If anyone can give any insight to this, it would be greatly appreciated.

I assume this office worked closely with the Gestapo and other security services.

Chris, I have one of these too. could never figure out the meaning of A.B.P. I sometimes have wondered if it was truly police as the eagle/wreath is not more like customs than police. But it is certainly not a familiar insignia for the Reichspost. I would expect a Sport Tag with itsnown tinnie to have been sponsored by an organization of greater breadth then the postal censorship office. Local police organizations did sponsor events bringing in all police and SS competitors in the area.

I searched for the Auslandsbrief Prufstelle in the 1943 Taschenbuch f. Verwaltungsbeamten but found nothing in the section on the Reichspostministerium. But I did find your apparent source in the SHAEF police report paragraph 106. But the SHAEF information relates that until 1944, these offices were controlled by Section III N of the old Abwehr. i still have a hard time with a local or even national Abwehr censorship office sponsoring a Sport Tag in 1941.

Ok, after some extensive searching, I`ve come up with very little on this tinnie other then there was an ABP office in Frankfurt am Main. Could it be possible that this event was sponsored by the police with members of the ABP in attendance?
