Graham. you should be asking author Rivett that question.

Are you not in the least bit curious where his evidence is?

After all, Author Rivett is the one who really started this thread, way back in March.

There are some who believe the horse is very much alive, further study may provide the answers. Does the horse continue to race another day or is it sent to the glue factory?

Well, Dave "chubby letters," whatever that means.

Now that is conclusive evidence for the glue factory.

              I guess that settles it.

              Right, Author Rivett?

                No Gary sadly not.

I am however curious as to the lack of evidence offered by the supporters of these fake badges to substantiate their defence of them?

Well, Graham, that is why I sent two examples to Author Rivett in Switzerland for his examination and evidence as to "micro-patina" or its absence.

We're still waiting, are we not?

By the way, what is your evidence the raised Hoffs are repro?

Why are you pouring salt into your own open wound? You could do this in private with him instead of being a diva and begging for support from anyone who happens to walk by this thread. Get in touch with him, have a discussion and then post results.

Think yourself lucky... other threads have been closed down for much lesser offences than your performance on this one. Here's an example: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=582878 Follow it through to the end and regardez vous the sarcastic (designed to kill the thread or save face) interjections from certain members that led to its closure.

Yep. Just checked and you definitely did say that. Didn't want to hijack the thread but I see some Mist going on that I can't leave ignored.

Hi Gary, there were some pretty good posts in the last thread on these raised Hoff's........

                              http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ckpin+opinions

......and I think some of the comments my friend JoeW alludes to in the last post of that thread are important to note. Joe mentions that there is a distinct lack of documentary evidence concerning the manufacturing of these pins by Hoffstätter, and I know both JoeW and Jo Rivett have put a lot of research time into this. Joe also states that "The collector market will decide."

I cannot offer you solid evidence but what I can offer is my opinion, which is/was shared by some very learned collectors of these badges such as Bill Stump, John Peppera, Raymond Griffiths and a host of others past and present who ALL state these raised Hoff's are fake.

                              What can you offer?

As I also said in that thread, if you are happy with these then that is okay. I on the other hand am not.

Yes, it has no sense to defend the raised Hoffstätter for ever. At the end you will stand alone. The collector community will eject this type of SS-zivilabzeichen and the same will happen with the M1/70 HJ Ehrenzeichen.
