How about "Munich Commemorative Badge of 1933"; or simply,
"The 1933 Munich Badge"

As we know, the correct name is "Festabzeichen" for the 9th of Novenber 1933 in Munich.
Maybe some german friend could say us what is the more accurate translation to english for the words "Festabzeichen".

If we are serious about this hobby -- and there is no doubt in my mind that we are and have been for many years -- then we need to be open to the results of new research scholarship all around us. Having been a collector and student of the TR era since the late 1950s, there is much published information on my library shelves that has since been found to be either inaccurate or misleading or downright erroneous. It was never the intention of those early authors to mislead us; it is simply a fact of life that new information brings deeper understanding of any subject, and certainly OUR subject! There is no end to scholarship but we shall never know the final truth on countless questions about this very brief period in history. But if we refuse to revisit old opinions -- perhaps dating from the now-ragged catalogs of the 1950s or the worn-out books from the 1960s and '70s on our shelves, then we will have fallen short of the desire each of us has to know more about this always-fascinating period in history.

I am always grateful to those who stepped up to the plate and published what they had learned about the TR era in their times; they did so out of pure enjoyment for this hobby and we all owe those authors a huge debt of gratitude for what they have given us. I also give thanks to those new and current authors who have found new levels of information and have sought to broaden our understanding of this time in history by sharing new information with the rest of us.

Hi Br James,

Very well said and i couldn't agree more. There is a lot going on in our hobby and new discoveries keep being made. It's one of the fun things to keep on learning more new facts on the items we find so interesting.
