You actually own Adolf Hitler’s gold Deschler 1935 RPT non portable medal; that is astounding Erich!

I’d truly love to see it. Have you posted a photo of this precious gem on WAF previously?

If you remember the 29 non portable awarded to Hess was in silver which leads me to believe none were awarded in gold or Hess would have had one.
I would love to see this badge and hear the history behind how it came into your possession. If ever you decide to adopt, please let me know. I'm low maintenance!

Here's the alinea from german Nazi Party Awards:

I just browsed quickly through some reference books and read in Angolia (political & civil awards) indeed that he mentions the three grades. I wonder wehere this comes from and if he ever saw a gold badge or read this in a period written source?

There is more to these RPT badges as one would think!

Erich, if you have pics of other years gold badges please post them, it may help to further understand the 1929 badge. I tried to find the pictures of the gold 1933 badge but can't find it yet.

          1929

          That's fantastic info Gaston!
And a question if I may- I searched a bit but with no result so far...does anyone know if 1929 Congress was a host to any fighting games (kampfspiele)? I know that later Party Day Celebrations included those but could not find any info on 1929...
          Great discussion guys...thanks again!!
          cheers
          Matt

I have posted Hitlers gold 35 RPT on an earlier thread but will also re post here as well.

This badge was once the property of Frau Winter who was Hitlers housekeeper in Munich. When Frau Winter died her estate was put up for auction in 1971 in Germany. The estate contained many of Hitlers person effects including many awards. This medal was given to Hitler along with one in silver by the Deschler firm. Alas, I only have the medal in gold in my collection.

Very nice Erich and a centerpiece of any RPT collection! Is this medal actually gold or gold colored?

This medal along with the rest of Hitlers belongings were seized by the Bavarian government after the war and later returned to Frau Winter in 1954.

                    Thanks Richard,

it has the same gold layering process used by Deschler on the Gold Party badges.

The silver version was done in .800 silver content.

This shot glass shows how much was thought of the 29 rally. This is an actual hollow back silver badge attached to the silver cup.

A really super thread and perhaps, a tad long overdue regarding this somewhat underestimated and madly important NSDAP honour badge. Hats off to Matthew for the instigation and promotion and of course, the pinning of what we consider to be an important subject specific thread.

Here is my boxed and non wearable example in silver, shown of course for reference and comparison purposes.

My thankyou again to one of this threads contributors towards the sourcing of this now, difficult to find and now heavily faked, important NSDAP honour badge.

                        Regards,

                        David
