And heres the reverse of the real one, main noticable difference is the size of the catch. And it looks like the pin on the initial post is just a wire pin instead of a flat one. Notice the spacing on the initials. And how the initials and date are off center.

I have a question about the Assman party badge. From what I have read in books and in the party badge thread, if there is a large gap between the L-S it is a sign of a reproduction. The badge pictured in this thread has that space commonly discussed. What makes this one different from the reproductions? Thanks in advance. Mike

Mike, While this guideline holds true with the vast majority of NSDAP badges there's always an exception and thats what you will find with Assmann party badges seen here in this attachment that was in one of Assmann's catalogs.
